Are you open all year round?

Yes.  The pods are fully insulated and have underfloor heating and double glazing, ensuring they are warm and cosy all year round.

Is there a minimum stay?

We operate a minimum 2-night stay as standard to help keep changeovers manageable.

Will you consider 1-night stays?

As bookings are made, we recognise that 1-night gaps will appear in the booking calendar.  Whilst 1-night stays cannot be booked online, if you identify a single night sandwiched between bookings where a pod is available, and you wish to book a stay for that night, please contact us and we will try to accommodate you.  Please note however that 1-night stays will not be offered when there is space for a 2-night stay.  A 1-night stay will be charged at our peak season rate regardless of the time of year.

Do I have to pre-pay for my stay?

Yes, our policy is payment in full at the time of booking.

What time is Check In and Check Out?

Check in is from 3pm on the day of arrival and check out is by 10am on the day of departure.

How many people do your pods sleep?

Each pod has a double bed, bunk beds and a sofa bed, so can sleep a maximum of six.

What kitchen facilities are there?

The pods each contain a kitchenette that includes a sink, 2-ring induction hob, combi oven/microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and cafetiere.  The kitchenette is also well equipped with frying pan, pots, baking tray, all utensils, crockery, cutlery, mugs and glasses.

Is there en-suite facilities?

Yes, each pod contains an en-suite shower room with toilet, sink, electric shower and heated towel rail.

Do you provide bedding and towels?

Yes, we provide all bed linen and a bath towel per guest.  We also provide hand towels, dish cloths and oven gloves.  Fresh towels can be provided for longer stays.  The towels are for use inside the pods only so if you intend to visit a beach or swimming pool please bring your own towels for this purpose.

What else is included in the pods?

Pod facilities also include underfloor heating, 32” smart Freeview television, free superfast wi-fi, electrical sockets and USB points, integrated Bluetooth speakers, dining table and four folding chairs, hairdryer and underbed storage.  A complementary welcome pack including tea, coffee, hot chocolate, juice, milk, sugar and biscuits is also provided as is washing up liquid, hand soap, toilet paper and kitchen roll.

What outdoor facilities are there?

Outside, each pod has a boot box on the decking and its own private chipped area out front with a picnic table.  There is an outdoor tap and hose fitted to the rear of each pod (handy for cleaning sandy beachwear, wetsuits etc.) and a clothesline at the side for drying beachwear, towels etc.  For children, there is a large communal outdoor playset and plenty of grassed areas to play and run around.

What are your nightly rates?

Our standard nightly rate is £110 per pod per night during peak season (1st April to 31st October, festive period and Lerwick Up Helly Aa week), reduced to £90 per night at all other times.  An automatic 10% discount will be applied at booking for 4, 5 and 6 night stays whilst 7+ night stays will benefit from a 15% discount.

Can I hire a firepit?

Yes, we have firepits available for hire.  A firepit can be booked as an extra at a cost of £20 which gives guests access to an outdoor storage box containing the firepit, a bag of wood, firelighters/matches and outdoor folding chairs.  An extra bag of wood can be booked at a cost of £5.

Do you provide cots and high chairs?

Yes, travel cots and compact highchairs can be booked as extras at a cost of £10 each.

Do you allow groups?

Yes, we welcome groups of families or friends looking for a quiet and relaxing break.  However please note we DO NOT accept bookings for stag or hen parties.

Is there a quiet time on site?

To safeguard the amenity of other guests and neighbouring residents, we ask that you please adhere to a quiet time between 10pm and 8am.

Do you allow dogs/pets?

We operate a strict no pets policy at our site.  Assistance dogs are however welcome.

What is your smoking policy?

Smoking and vaping is strictly prohibited inside the pods and in shared amenity areas.

Is car parking available on site?

Yes, there is a car park on site located a short walk from the pods.  One parking space is allocated per pod.  Please let us know in advance if you require an additional parking space.

Do you have an EV charging point?

Not yet, but we plan to install one in the near future.

What do I do with my rubbish?

There is a triple-compartment pedal bin in each pod for separating recyclable waste from general waste.  Should these bins fill up during your stay, you can dispose of your rubbish in the allocated wheelie bins located next to the car park.  Please use the correct bins provided.

Are the pods accessible?

Tirrick pod is wheelchair accessible and includes features such as level entry, wide doors, full wet room with grab rails and minimum 1.5m turning circles for freedom of movement within the pod.  A mobile hoist and mobile shower chair is also available for use in Tirrick if required.

What happens if I need to cancel?

We are able to refund cancelled bookings up to 14 days prior to arrival.  In the event of late cancellations or no-shows, we do not offer any (either full or partial) refund.  We strongly advise you to take out the appropriate travel insurance so you can have peace of mind that your costs will be covered should you need to cancel your stay for any reason.
